Kranz, Harold Lloyd "Shorty" Age 82, at rest Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet on September 7, 1930. He retired in 1982 from Caterpillar after 32 years of service. Cpl. Harold served his country in the Korean War
as a Combat Construction Specialist. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and Good Conduct Medal. He married Shirley Gliwa on December 4, 1955 and just celebrated 57 years together. Preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Edith Kranz; a grandson, Mathew Kranz; a brother, Butch Kranz; sisters, Myrth Noon, Doris Lennert, Toots Hilton, Beverly Bankford, Marilyn Marco, Betty Kokalj and Darlene Orsen. Survived by the love of his wife, Shirley; his children, Rick (Anita), Randall, Robin (Dean) Morelli, Penny (Scott) Koetz, Kimberly (Randy) Bain, Cindy (Dan) Fisher, Doreen (Roger) Kaczmarski, Kevin (Jennifer), Rebecca (Bill) Hartney, Christopher and Erik; 35 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Gil; and a brother, Donnie Kranz. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice Home would be appreciated. The Kranz family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Joliet Area Community Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion. Funeral services will be held Friday, 9:30 am from the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME, 1105 E. 9TH ST. (159TH ST.), LOCKPORT to St. Joseph Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Graveside Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville with Military Honors. Visitation Thursday, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
