
Castello, David Age 86, of Chatsworth, died Sunday, February 17, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Emma Castello, and a son, David Castello Jr.; siblings, Evelyn Pehlke, Clarence Klotz, Alice Pehlke, Arthur Scharf, William Castello, Michael Costello, Joseph Costello, Elmer Scharf, Dolly Young and Junie Johnson. Mr. Castello was a first generation American-his father came here from Italy-and proudly served his country in
World War II in the Third Army Division under General George Patton. He received three
purple hearts, three bronze battle stars and a good conduct medal. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Edna Taylor Castello; children and spouses, Daniel and Pam Castello, Donald and Linda Castello, all of Lockport, IL, Joy Castello of Chatsworth; grandchildren and spouses, Amanda and Charlie Irizarry, Kevin and Megan Castello, Allison Castello, Jessica and Andy Karuchit, Michael and Claudia Castello, Garrett Castello, and Bradley Castello; one great-grandchild, Harper Castello; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be Thursday, 11 am from the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Bowen, Pastor Michael Castello and Pastor Andy Karuchit officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at 2 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday after 5 pm.
