Brown, Nancy Schmidt Age 64 of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, formerly of Elgin, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 in Siena, Italy as the result of a fall and fractured skull. She was born May 12, 1948 in Elgin, the daughter of Erwin and Florence Schmidt. She attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Elgin High School with the class of 1966. She attended Elgin Community College and graduated from New York university in Utica. She owned and operated her shop, The Stargazer, in Fish Creek, Wisconsin for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Christian Brown; her father, Erwin Schmidt and her brother, Keith Schmidt. Surviving are her mother, Florence Schmidt (Robert) Anderson of Elgin; her sister, Cynthia (Steven) Geye of West Dundee; her nephew, Kevin (Heather) Geye of Madison, Wisconsin; 2 nieces, Julie Geye of West Dundee and Jennifer (Justin) Powers of Monument, Colorado; 2 grandnephews, Owen Powers and Henry Geye and 1 grandniece, Callie Powers; 2 aunts; 1 uncle; numerous cousins, her dog and companion, Hunter, and many, many friends. Funeral services will be Monday 10:00 a.m at Madison Funeral Home in Elgin with Frank Hewitt of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, West Dundee officiating. Burial will be in East Dundee Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
