Ruth Paula Hintt
Age 89, of Elgin passed away on August 20, 2010 at Rosewood Care Center, Elgin, after a brief illness. She was born on August 30, 1920 in Tinley Park, IL the daughter of Alfred and Alma (Raabe) Christian.
Ruth was a graduate of Sherman Hospital School of Nursing in 1941, and had worked at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin for over 30 years prior to her retirement. She was a Veteran, and served in the US Army during WWII, stationed in England and Germany. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Algonquin, IL and had served as Treasurer for the Sherman Hospital Alumnae Association.
Survivors include her two daughters, Christine Donegan and Carol Hintt both of Elgin, IL. Her sister, Norma Petersen of Carol Stream, IL and her brother, Walter (Ruth) Christian of Rochester, MN, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, also her husband. Morris C. Hintt on May 23, 2007, whom she married on June 25, 1950 in Algonquin, IL, and five brothers, Gerhard, Arnold, Paul, Martin and Alfred.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Algonquin, with Pastor William Stroup officiating. Burial will follow at Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Wednesday at the church from 12:00 Noon until the time of services.
