Donald Schambach, 60, of St. Charles, IL passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva, IL. He was born on November 1, 1948 in Elgin IL the son to Albert and Dorothy (Anliker) Schambach.
Don graduated from Larkin High School in 1966. He had owned and operated Fifth Avenue Flowers in St. Charles/ Geneva for over 30 years.
He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Elgin.
Survivors include his wife, Leann (Banwart), whom he married on September 23, 1973; three children, Shaena (Fred) Dietz of Hampshire, IL, Lynwood (Jamie) Schambach of Maple Park, IL, Brently (Mollie) Schambach of Sugar Grove, IL; six grandchildren, Logan, Ashlyn, Leighton and Avery Dietz, Braedon and Keegan Schambach; his father, Albert of Elgin; two brothers, Stan (Norma) and Les (Alison) Schambach; and a sister, Carol Schambach; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Schambach.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 2740 West Highland Avenue, Elgin IL 60124. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Center, 2760 West Highland Avenue from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
