Frank D. Johnson Obituary
Johnson, Frank D. Age 77, of East Dundee passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Batavia Rehab Center in Batavia. Frank was born in East Dundee on November 18, 1935, the son of the late Earl E. and Selma (nee Schmidt) Johnson. Frank was a life long resident of the Dundee area, a 1953 graduate of Dundee Community High School and a 1957 graduate of North Central College. Frank also attended Northwestern University College of Law. He was a longtime member and former Sunday School Superintendent at the First United Methodist church in West Dundee. Frank had many diverse business interests and ventures. He was the former owner and operator of the Dundee Main Street Theater as well as theaters in Crystal Lake & Sycamore. He taught School in School District # 300 as well as serving on the District # 300 Board of Education. He owned and operated a printing company in the Dundee and Carpentersville as well as producing movies in Florida and California. Also, for many years, Frank served as Magistrate in East Dundee. Frank was very active in Republican Politics in Kane County. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved baseball, and coached little league in the Dundee area for many years. Survivors include his son, Robert F. Burkhardt; his siblings, George H Johnson, Jean A. (the late David) Dehmlow, Mary E. (the late James) White and John R. Johnson. Frank is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand and great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Johnson; his sister-in-law, Elly Dalby Johnson and a nephew, Larry Johnson. Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church, West Dundee. Private family inurnment will follow in the Dundee Twp. East Cemetery, East Dundee. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
