Harmon, Elmer T. 91, of Elgin, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, WI. He was born in Havensville, Kansas on December 27, 1922 to Elmer D. and Constence (Sausser) Harmon. He married Elaine Swanson July 16, 1944 in Woodstock. Mr. Harmon worked as a carpenter. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 363. He was a member of the Elgin Moose Lodge for 65 years. He enjoyed working with wood, boating, motorcycling. He loved his fishing trips to Canada. He enjoyed sports, especially cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He is survived by two sons, James (Patricia) Harmon and Wayne (Rhonda) Harmon; five grandchildren, Tom (Jeri) Harmon, Beth Harmon, Ben Harmon, Stacy (Chris) Pierotti and Jameson Harmon; four great-grandchildren, Elaine Pierotti, Payton Pierotti, Abbi Harmon and Jacob Harmon; a sister, Velma Constance Niemeier. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Shaikay Harmon; a brother, Rolland Harmon; a sister, Lucille Weiss; and an infant sister, Mary. The visitation will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor John Greve presiding. Burial will be at McHenry County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mooseheart Child City & School, 155 W. James J. Davis Dr., Batavia, Illinois 60539.
