Anderson, Robert L. 85, of Elgin died Sunday, August 18th at St. Joseph Hospital. Born October 4, 1927 in Elgin. He was the son of David and Pearl Anderson. Upon his graduation from Elgin High School, Robert joined the U.S. Navy. Upon completing his military service, Robert learned to fly. He became a licensed pilot. He worked for Commonwealth Edison Electric Company until his retirement in 1986. Surviving is his wife Florence Schmidt Anderson, whom he married in 1991; one daughter, Leslie Anderson of Michigan; one step-daughter Cynthia (Steven) Geye of West Dundee; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola Rohrsen Anderson and two step-children and a step-grandson and one sister, Ruth, of Wisconsin. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27th at 11:00AM at the Madison Funeral Home in Elgin with Reverend Hannibal Frederich officiating. Visitation will be Monday 4:00-7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Elgin.
