Devereaux, Willis Reed "Will" Passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born on December 11, 1925 to Reed and Irma (Schacht) Devereaux in Geneva, IL. Willis lived in St. Charles, IL until age 11, at which time the family moved to Aurora, IL. Willis was a 1943 graduate of East Aurora High School. He served in the United States Army from March 7, 1944 until May 25, 1946 during World War II. Willis was employed at Lyon Metal Products in Montgomery, IL for 46 years. Willis was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Aurora, IL. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #400 in Aurora, IL. Willis is survived by one sister, Lorraine (the late Frank) Vonhoff of Aurora, IL and one brother, Charles Devereaux of Mt. Morris, IL. Also surviving him are a niece, Judith (Peter) Haurykiewicz; a nephew, David (Christine) Vonhoff; a niece, Cheryl Vonhoff all of Aurora, IL; also a nephew, Daniel (Hollie) Carey and Lori (Lou) Lee both of Batavia, IL; a special cousin, Fred (Pam) Carlson of Batavia, IL as well as several great nieces, nephews and other cousins. He also leaves two lifelong friends, Larry Poole and James Clayton and his special companion, his cat "Daisy". Willis was preceded in death by his father, Reed M. Devereaux in November 1973; his mother, Irma M. Devereaux in September 1986 and a sister, Mary Ann (Devereaux) Carey in June 1981. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 10 A.M. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11 A.M. with Rev. Cyndi Gavin of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be held at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia, IL.
