Baker, Roberta Elaine "Bobbie" Age 73, passed away on July 11, 2012, at her home in Oswego, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bobbie was born April 15, 1939 in Aurora, the daughter of the late Irvin R. and Vivian F. (Phillips) King of Montgomery. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Robert F. Baker of Oswego; two sons, Jeffrey (Holly) Baker of Yorkville; Michael Baker of Sugar Grove; and daughter, Ann Marie Baker of Oswego. Bobbie and Bob were married on November 7, 1959 at New England Congregational Church in Aurora. Bobbie is also survived by her mother-in-law, Ferne Baker of Plainfield; brother-in-law, John (Ann) Baker of Naperville; two sisters, Jean Johnson of North Aurora, and Lucille Blatner of Aurora; cousins, Richard (Kathleen) Lehman of Naperville, and Sharon Doeseckle of Naperville. Also surviving are six granddaughters: Madison (Brenden) Smith of Yorkville; Devan Baker of Pueblo, Colorado; Kiley Baker of Yorkville; Blair Baker of Boulder, Colorado; Lindsey Baker of Sugar Grove and Nicole Peterson of Yorkville; and one great-granddaughter, Elaine Rose Smith of Yorkville, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her father-in-law, David Baker; sister, Doris Smith, aunt and uncle, Bernice and Herbert Lehman; and four brothers-in-law, Paul Blatner, Robert Dillenburg, James Johnson, and Buel Smith. Bobbie was a life-long member of New England Congregational Church and served in numerous areas including, a past member of the Board of Building and Grounds, and performing in leadership roles for various annual events and fund-raisers. She was also a long-time member of the Chancel choir. She was a member of the Hilltop Gardeners where she not only shared much of her gardening experience with club members, but also contributed many plants and flowers for the annual Plant Sale, the organization's major fund-raiser. As an avid golfer, she was a member of the Par Pals Golf League in North Aurora. She was a 1957 graduate of West Aurora High School and attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. A memorial to celebrate Bobbie's life will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00 A.M., at New England Congregational Church, 406 W. Galena Boulevard, Aurora. Reverend Gary McCann will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to New England Congregational Church or Vitas Hospice, 3033 W. Jefferson, Suite 204, Joliet, IL 60435. Bobbie's family wishes to express their sincere and deepest gratitude to Karri Combs, Diane Mills, Catherine Leslie and the rest of the Vitas Team 805 for the excellent nursing care rendered to Bobbie during the last days of her life, as well as their kindness in offering solace to the family members. Funeral arrangements are arranged by DuPage Memorial Chapel, 951 West Washington Street, West Chicago, Illinois.
