Becker, Herbert E. Age 84, of Sheridan, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011. He was born on December 25, 1926 in Covington, KY, the son of the late Robert Emil and Elnora (Kupper) Becker. Herbert retired from the U.S. Navy and served during WWII in the Pacific. He also served in the Korean War, Vietnam War and the Cold War. He loved woodworking, classical music, westerns, gardening and was an accomplished artist. He is survived by his wife, Patsy (Pounds) Becker; children, Vickie (Mike) White, Connie (Jeff) Palmer, Debbie Sizemore, David (Kellie) Blankenship, Barbara (Michael) Moermond, Bruce (Debbie) Becker, John Becker, Lisa (Rodney) Bennett, Pamela (Marty) Volk, Andrew (Val) Becker, Peter (Kim) Becker and Matthew Becker; 38 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and brother, Thomas (Sara) Robinson. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 3 PM 8 PM at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the chapel followed by a 12:30 PM committal service at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
