Everett Blake Obituary
Blake, Everett W. age 71, of Oswego, IL died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle against cancer on Thursday, February 3, 2011. Everett was born April 5, 1939 in Kewanee, IL the son of the late Warren Everett and Margaret J nee Keeling Blake. Everett was a member and former trustee of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, IL. He started working in the grocery business at a young age for A&P Grocery stores in Kewanee and Aurora, IL and Eagle Food Stores in Morris, West Chicago, Plano and Aurora (Sullivan Rd) as the produce manager. He is survied by his wife Dolores "Dodie" (Whom he married on September 17, 1961 in Kewanee, IL), four daughters Pam (Jerry) Weaver, Diana Mewmaw, Donna (Greg) Mason, Debbie (Steve) Klonowski all of Oswego, IL, five grandchildren Brittney and Becky Weaver, Stephanie and Abbey Mewmaw, Chandler Mason, three sisters Margaret (Don) Hodgeboom of Annawan, IL, Betty (Dan) Rogers of Sycamore, IL, Carole Reed of Kewanee, IL, a brother John (Carole) Blake of Kewanee, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Jean Whittmeyer. Visitation will take place on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY at 1801 S Douglas Rd in Oswego, IL. A gathering will take place on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 10:00 until the memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Good Shepherd at Washington/Madison Sts in Oswego, IL. Cremation will be accord the wish of the family. Memorials may be directed to either the Church of the Good Shepherd or the Oncology Dept. of Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL.
