Walters, Joan (McDonald) 77, of Batavia, went to be with her Savior on Monday, January 10, 2011. She was born to George and Jennie (Cummings) McDonald on August 22, 1933. She married James Walters on September 6, 1952. Joan retired from Rotolo Middle School after 31 years as a secretary. Joan is survived by her husband, James Walters; her daughters, Debbie (Joe) Jenness, Sandi (Scott) Bechtel, Laurie Walters, Brenda Walters, Cindy Walters and Violet (Fred) Long; her 14 grandchildren, Katie Jenness, Joey Jenness, Dan (Amy) Bechtel, Jennie (Shawn) Anton, Steve Bechtel, Jason (Mia) Hana, Becky Hana, David (Samantha) Perfect, Steven (Alma) Perfect, Kira Perfect, Melissa (Scott) Chivers, Kristin (David) Cochran, Brandon Fender, Freddie (Julie) Long and Cindy (Glen) Mundell; her 8 great grandchildren, Hannah Bechtel, Bryan Bechtel, Natalie Anton, Noah Anton, Delia Perfect, Caitlyn Perfect, Joshua Perfect and Jayla Cochran; her 2 sisters, Jean Hummell and Ruth Brown; her brother, Don (Pat) McDonald; numerous nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Brian Hana; her five brothers, Earl, George, Laverne, Edgar and Albert McDonald; her six sisters, Patty VanOvermeiren, Violet Wright, Rose Carpenter, Grace Smith, Elaine Fuquey and Jennie Crosby and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, 635 N. Randall Rd., Aurora. Private family services will be held after the public visitation. Interment will take place at River Hills Memorial Park. Memorials in Joan's name may be directed to First Christian Church.
