Laura E. St. Jules Laura E. St. Jules, 97, of Pekin, Illinois, formerly of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully in the home she shared with her daughter, Sarah on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. She was born on June 13, 1913, in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Andrew and Selma Lindborg. She married Edward St. Jules on August 28, 1937. Edward preceded her in death on August 27, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lloyd and Andrew, and one sister, Sigred Barron. Laura graduated from Joliet High School, Stephens College and the National College of Education. Education and books were her passion, and she will be remembered for her zeal for teaching. Laura last taught in School District 129, Aurora, Illinois at Greenman School. After the death of her husband in 1977, she moved to Pekin to live closer to her family. While living in Pekin, she participated in the literacy program at the Pekin YMCA. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed traveling and learning about different cultures and was a daily communicant at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a member of Blue Circle and the Altar and Rosary Society. She mostly enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laura's positive outlook on life affected all who knew her. Each and every day she would seek out something new to learn and would share this knowledge with others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah St. Jules of Pekin, Illinois and Suzanne (John) Bernardi of Galena, Illinois, one son, Edward "Chip" (Mary) St. Jules of Aurora, Illinois, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Holy Angels Church, 180 S. Russell Avenue, Aurora, Illinois with Fr. John Earl officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Aurora, Illinois. Memorials may be sent to Holy Angels Catholic Grade School, Aurora, Illinois or to St. Joseph Grade School, Pekin, Illinois.
