Dolores Jean Slimp Neumann
Dolores Jean Slimp Neumann, nee Waldow was born in Westmont, Illinois to the late Arthur Waldow and Cecilia (Raschke) on June 19, 1932. Her passing on September 2nd 2010 will create a void in the lives of all who knew her. She grew up in the Wheaton/Warrenville area and moved to the Montgomery/Aurora area to raise her family and become a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Warrenville. She was a Cubs & Bears fan and had a great passion for watching John Wayne movies. Her dog was even named the "Duke".
She leaves behind a sister Donna (Norm) Geiser of Nevada, her children: Bill (Lois) Slimp, Jo (Dick) Pegg, both of Golconda, Illinois, Paula (Cecil) Barnes, of Montgomery. Lowell (Jennifer) Slimp, of Fairfield, Illinois, Barb (Gary) Cheek, Robert Slimp, both of Aurora, Kathy (Dave) Ellenbecker, of Springfield, Wisconsin, Sherry Bunton of Georgia and Raymond Slimp of Aurora. Dolores was also Grandmother to 14 and Great Grandmother to 25.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husbands Lowell Slimp Sr. and Larry Neumann, her brother Art Waldow, her sister Janet Lange and a child in infancy.
Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl. Aurora. A gathering to celebrate Dolores' life will take place at 10 A.M. on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dave Mante and Dr. Mohammed Asif Mahkri, along with the staff of both Rush-Copley and Provena Mercy Hospitals.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dolores' memory may be made to the family.
