Ruth Marie Matyas
Ruth M. Matyas, 90, of Aurora passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Aurora Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born July 28, 1919 in Pontiac, IL.
Ruth was a lifelong area resident of Aurora. She married John Matyas on August 3, 1940 at St. Michael Church. After 25 years of employment at Henry Pratt Company in the accounting department, Ruth retired at the age of 70 in 1989. She was a Eucharistic minister and member of St. Joseph Church and also volunteered with the homeless for many years. Ruth enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
She is survived by her daughter Marsha (Nick) Stull of Aurora; four grandchildren Jennifer Stull of Aurora, John (Donna) Stull of North Aurora, Anthony Stull of Tamp, FL, and Nicholas (Vicki) Stull of Yorkville; and five great-grandchildren Meghan and Caitlin Hogan, and Nicholas, Samantha, and Mackenzie Stull.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Matyas and her parents Dewey (Bryant) and Noah Ricker.
Funeral from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY will be Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:30 am to St. Joseph Church at 12:00 pm. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
