Dumdie, Vernon Herman 79, of Montgomery, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013. He was born October 9, 1933 in Aurora, the son of the late Herman and Elizabeth (Stredde) Dumdie. He is survived by his wife, Joan Catherine Dumdie; children, Debra Dumdie and Michael (Carolyn) Dumdie; twin sister, Verdell Shepherd; granddaughters, Jeaneen and Courtney; great-grandson, "his buddy" Justin; as well as one great-grandson on the way. Along with his parents, Vernon was preceded in death by his siblings, Albert, Herman Jr., Erwin, Norman and Alberta Bernard. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Vernon was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Aurora. He retired from All-Steel in 1988 after 40 years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 5 PM 8 PM at Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the chapel followed by a graveside service at St. Paul Cemetery.
