Stephanie Harvey-Tansey

Obituary Condolences

Harvey-Tansey, Stephanie E.M 41, passed away into the arms of angels Wednesday, April 24th. Her larger than life personality all began on March 21, 1972 as a 10 lb. 6 oz. baby girl to Jeff and Shelley (Martin) Harvey. Steph leaves behind her fiancée, David King; daughters, Maddy Tansey and Willow King; son, Jack Tansey; mother, Shelley Harvey; father, Jeffrey (Jackie) Harvey; two brothers, Zach (Jessica) Harvey, Jake (Heather) Harvey; stepbrother, Sebastian Kokes; grandmother, Jo (Fred) Tansey, all of Oswego. She also leaves behind several brokenhearted aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and coworkers. Stephanie is proceeded in death by maternal grandparents, Bill and Mitzi Martin and paternal grandfather, Jim Harvey. Stephanie was employed by Whole Child Pediatrics, where she combined her love of children and holistic lifestyle. She was a fabulous massage therapist and reiki master who believed in the power of healing to help others. Stephanie graduated from Oswego High School in 1990, attended both Parkland College and Olympia College attaining certifications and licenses in travel, real estate, and massage therapy. Some of Stephanie's greatest loves were being a mommy, spending time with family and friends, her Siamese cats and "weinerdog", her Volkswagen (slug-bug champ) happiness, peace signs, screaming with laughter at herself and others, going to the flea market or a good second hand store with her mom, being a foodie, Gerber daisies, social media, music, and especially being Orange Cheer commissioner for Oswego Youth Tackle Football & Cheer. Stephanie had a life-long dislike of frogs and was known to be late for work or get to her car by piggy-back if she suspected one lurking in her way. Steph could light up a room with her smile and people gravitated to her laughter and storytelling. Those that never knew Stephanie, wish they had. Family will host a celebration of Stephanie's life Thursday, May 2nd, 2013, from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm at Oswego Presbyterian Church 1976 Rt, 25 Oswego, IL. 60543 officiated by Rev. Leon Aalberts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Stephanie Harvey-Tansey Children's Memorial Fund located at Bridgeview Bank 2760 U.S. 34 Oswego, IL. 60543 630-554-2265.
