Vera, Sacora (Socorro/Sara) 83 of Aurora, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, surrounded by her daughters. She was born to Hilario and Mercedes Vera on December 31, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan. She is survived by her daughters: Gloria (Hector) Benavides, Marissa Llamas, Paty (Samuel) Nunez and her son-in-law: Roberto Lopez, all of Aurora; thirteen grandchildren: Roberto (Dana) Lopez of Sugar Grove, Manuel Lopez, Marissa Lopez, Erik Lopez, Mario (Jamie) Benavides of Oswego, Ann Benavides (Peter Costa) of Livermore, California, Emmanuel Llamas, Gabriel Nunez, Jazmin Nunez (David Ramirez,) Jonathan Nunez, Samantha Nunez, Samuel Nunez II and Sophia Nunez; ten great-grandchildren: Isabel, Emma and Anthony Benavides; Julian, Celso, Andrea and Anahi Nunez; Gianna and Isabella Ramirez and Mateo Nunez. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel in 1985 and her daughter Rebecca "Becky" in 2010 as well as her parents and all of her siblings. Sacora retired from Western Electric in 1989. She and her husband Manuel were the original owners of Tia Maria's Restaurant in Geneva, IL. She enjoyed baking cookies, shopping, traveling and going to the casino. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family will greet guests on Friday evening from 3:00 until 8:00PM at Dieterle Memorial Home in Montgomery. Funeral prayers Saturday at 8:45 to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Aurora for a 10:00AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
