Gottberg, Gregory D. 61, passed away Thursday November 29, 2012 at Presence Mercy Center in Aurora, IL. He was born July 3, 1951, in Aurora the son of the late Herbert and Mabel (Watkins) Gottberg. He served his country in United States Army during Vietnam and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked as a machinist and was proud union member for thirty-three years with the UAW Local 145 and then with the Teamsters Local 777. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement job as a bus driver for special needs children. Gregory is survived by his wife, Pamela (Pennock) Gottberg; two children, Gail (Rick) Beach and Brian (Christina) Gottberg; three step children, Jason (Doree) Angello, Joshua (Harmony) Angello, Brooke (Michael) Hermann; nine grandchildren; brothers, Herbert Jr. (Patty) Gottberg, James (Denise) Gottberg; and his sister, Melody (Richard) Kane; along with many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, LaVern Gottberg; and infant sister, Mary Gottberg. Gregory and Pamela enjoyed hiking and traveling and most of all spending time with all their children and grandchildren. Gregory loved photography and making videos for his family. He was deeply loved and will be truly missed by his family and friends and especially his grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 4 pm until time of service 7 pm at Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl. Aurora, IL 60506.
