Hoffman, George Walter 88, passed away February 9, 2013, with his loving family close by his side. He was born August 7, 1924, in Saint Marie, Illinois to the late George and Elizabeth Hoffman. The family and those who knew him well will remember him for his strong work ethic, love of the great outdoors, and an offbeat sense of humor. George worked most of his life drilling water wells, but he also enjoyed fishing especially in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He will be missed. He is survived by his daughters, Sandy (Wayne) Johnson, and Cheryl Johnson; his eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; his two sisters and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Marjorie (Ewald), Dorothy (Close) and Marjorie (Belcher); his two brothers and nine sisters. Visitation was held Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. February 12, 2013 at the Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL, Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. February 13, 2012 also at the Healy Chapel, Sugar Grove.
