Elizabeth McElroy Obituary
McElroy, Elizabeth Ruth Abel Of Hartland, WI, entered the loving arms of our Lord Jesus at the age of 94. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection of Hartland for many years. Elizabeth attended St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School in Aurora and graduated from East Aurora High School in 1937 and from Copley Memorial School of Nursing, Aurora. She was an obstetrical nurse for many years at Copley Memorial Hospital. After moving to Wisconsin, she worked as a pediatric nurse in Waukesha, WI until she retired. Elizabeth was a dedicated nurse and was blessed with the gift of compassion and gave abundant care to her patients. Elizabeth married the love of her life, Robert H. McElroy on August 1, 1941. They were married for 41 years. She was born in Aurora, IL to the late Robert A. and Anna M. Abel, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. McElroy in 1982 and her brother, Clarence R. Abel in 2007. Elizabeth was a loving and caring mother to her two daughters, Kathleen Robards (Gary) of Eagle, WI, and Kristine Swenson (Randall) of Hartland, WI. She was a cherished grandmother to Andrew Robards of Walker, MO, Jennifer Sharp of Panama City, FL, Rebecca Timmerman (Robert) of Eagle, WI, and Julie Garfield (Joseph) of Waukesha, WI. She was great-grandmother to Ashley and Ryan Timmerman, Stephen and Spencer Sharp, Rachel and Daniel Garfield, and step-great-grandmother to Bethany Jennings (Kenny) and Meghan Moeller; a special sister-in-law, Carol Abel, and a special cousin to Evelyn Moser of Columbus, IN. Elizabeth is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
