Pyle, Captain James "Gomer" Passed away peacefully at Provena Mercy Center on March 26, 2013, surrounded by his daughters, family and friends. Jim was 70 years young. A native of Aurora, Illinois, Jim graduated from West Aurora High School and joined the U.S. Navy. He served from 1960 to 1964 on the U.S.S. Ranger. He married Suzanne J. Ernst on August 14, 1965. They enjoyed their three daughters, family and traveling with their dogs. The spent several years enjoying the company of their Coffee Lake neighbors in Grand Junction, Michigan Jim became a firefighter with the Aurora Fire Department on May 12, 1975 and he retired on November 12, 1999. He served as a private, lieutenant, and captain. Many bonds and memories were created during his career as a firefighter. Jim was the owner of Guardian Express, Inc., and also an operator for Reisling Motor Express. Jim is survived by his three daughters, Kim Michalsen, Krista Carls and Karina Pyle; sons-in-law, Steve Michalsen and Michael Hoffmann. Jim had three grandchildren, Hailey, Harrison and Hayden Hoffmann. Jim is also survived by his siblings, Janet (Elmer) Diederich, John (Julie) Pyle, Joe (Sherri) Pyle and Chuck (Linda) Pyle. Jim is survived by his in-laws, Kathy (Mike) Hauge, Salli (Duane) Walden, and Jeff (Christy) Ernst. There are numerous nieces and nephews who survive him as well. His faithful Old English Sheepdog, Winston survives as well. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Pyle; his brother, Jeff Pyle; his parents, Charles and Edythe Pyle; as well as numerous family Old English Sheepdogs predeceased Jim, Beau, Ernie, Barney, Bailey and several "granddogs." Visitation will take place from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr. Sugar Grove as well as from 9 A.M. until 2 P.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the funeral home with a funeral service to follow at 2 P.M.
