Blank, Betty A. 91, formerly of Montgomery, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013. She was born January 28, 1922 in Aurora, the daughter of the late Henry and Leahanna (Heikes) Grumhaus. Betty was a member of St. John's UCC and was in the Daughters of Ruth at the church. She was also a member of the Aurora Women's Club and active in a couple of the local bridge clubs. Betty attended both Northern Teacher's College and Aurora College. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Joan) Blank of Maple Park, IL and Richard (Cheryl) Blank of Crawfordsville, IN; grandchildren, Jeff (Amanda) Blank Chaffin of Bettendorf, IA, Beth (Mac) Blank-Johnson of Geneva, Josh (Heather) Blank of Sarasota, FL, Ronette (David) Icso of Maple Park, Ryan (Melissa) Blank of Huntsville, AL and Andrea Blank of New York; great-grandchildren, Trenton Blank, Olivia Blank, Xavier Blank Chaffin, Nick Blank Chaffin, Juliana Icso, Andrew Icso, Bria Icso, Anna Blank, Ainsley Blank and Archer Blank; great-great-grandchild, Sophia Blank; nieces, Leanne Fogleman and Linda Grumhaus; nephew, Bill Grumhaus and many other nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Blank; her brother, Robert and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Grumhaus. A special thank you to the staff at Countryside Care Centre for their extraordinary care of Betty. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 11 A.M. until the service hour at 1 P.M. at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506.
