Wade, Betty J. Bradshaw 76, of Plano passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at Rush-Copley Medical Center, Aurora. She was born September 11, 1936 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Clyde and Dorothy Cory Bradshaw. She was a graduate of Griggsville High School and received her bachelor's degree in Business Education from the University of Illinois. Betty was an avid sportswomen during her younger years excelling at bowling and golf and for several years played for a traveling team in Naperville. Her passion was duplicate bridge. She owned and ran several duplicate bridge clubs in the Fox Valley region for many years. She was still playing for points and teaching bridge lessons until she fell ill. She loved gardening and filled the wooded lot in Plano with hundreds of Hostas of all sizes and hues. Surviving are her husband, David C. Wade whom she married on June 21, 1959; 3 children, Tamara Melter of Albuquerque, NM, Steven (Suzanne) Wade of Bartlett, Lisa (Chris) Harris-Landorf of Hampshire; 6 grandchildren, Michelle Harris, Samantha Wade, Steven Melter, David Wade, Charles Harris II and Kevin Melter, and a sister, Kay (Gordon) Rednour of Pinehurst, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 4:00 P.M. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
