Pointis, Alfred L. 92, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Autumn Leaves of Oswego. He was born March 1, 1921 in Springfield, MA. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and was a proud member of the VFW. He was a member of the Tiger Club and the Turners Club. He was an avid sports fan and loved his Chicago White Sox, Blackhawks and Bears. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Arlene (Backes) Pointis; three children, Sue (Jim) Toma, Mary (Dave) Negre, Dave (Susie) Pointis; six grandchildren, Lori (Craig) Phillip, Mike (Bridget) Toma, Jeff Toma, Michael Pointis, Ryan Negre, Dan Negre; four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Samantha, Nate and Zack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Marie (Marchessault) Pointis; and his sister, Alyce (late Joseph) Waem. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, to St. Mary Church at 10:30 a.m., Fr. Timothy R. Piasecki will officiate with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
