William F. Walker

Walker, William F. "Bill" 89, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. He was born on August 2, 1924 the son of William I. and Kathleen (Conley) Walker. Bill was a 1942 graduate of Marmion Military Academy. He was a veteran of WW II, serving his country as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army. Bill served in the European Theater, receiving a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. In 1944 he married Margaret Eckle and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage together. From 1950 until his retirement he was a carpenter working construction on many local buildings and schools. He was an avid White Sox, Bulls and Notre Dame Football fan. Bill was a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his two sons, William F. (Karen) Walker, Jr., and Patrick J. (Linda) Walker; two grandchildren, Timothy Walker and Daniel (Amber) Walker; one great-grandchild, Kayla Walker; two brothers, Thomas (Joyce) Walker, and Gerald (Joanne) Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William I. and Kathleen Walker; and his wife, Margaret "Peggy" Walker in 1994. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY at 11:30 a.m. to St. Rita of Cascia Church at 12:00 noon. Fr. Slawomir Zimodro will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N.
