Stephen Boyce

Boyce, Stephen F. 64, of Montgomery, passed away on May 7, 2013. He was born on September 1, 1948 the son Robert and Opal Boyce. Stephen graduated from East Aurora High School in 1967. He proudly served his country with the US Army during Vietnam and was a member of the VFW Montgomery Post 7452. He retired as the assistant Chief of the South Park Fire Protection District after 20 years of service. He was employed with Caterpillar for 41 years before retirement and after retiring enjoyed 4 years working at Naperville Exhaust Works. He was a handyman, loved to garden, and be outdoors but above all, he loved his family and especially loved his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Paulette; his children, Marcus (Karla) Boyce, Jennifer (Craig) Ashton; his grandchildren, Sydnie and Wesley Boyce, Mathew and Abigail Ashton and Payton Brazelton. He is also survived by sisters, Patricia (James) Wolsfelt and Yvonne (Steve) Schmidt and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Opal Martin and father, Robert Boyce. Family will be receiving guests on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538.
