Rose Comer

Comer, Rose 94, of North Aurora, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013 at Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park, IL. She was born July 30, 1918 in Aurora, Illinois. Rose worked for General Motors in Dayton, Ohio for 30 years until her retirement in 1978. She moved back to Aurora in 1979. Rose was the longest living member of the Women of the Moose, and was also a member of the Friendly Center and the St. Elizabeth Society. Survivors include her stepson, Melvin Comer, Jr. of Harvard, IL; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Comer; her parents, Louis and Rose (Filatz) Hofner; three brothers, Emery, John and Louis Hofner; three sisters, Mart Hart, Margaret Kapolnoky and Helen Fatten; and her sister-in-law, Bernice Hofner. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY at 11:00 AM to St. Joseph Church at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 from 2:00 PM 8:00 PM, with a Liturgical Wake Service at 7:30 PM, at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60506. 630-631-5500.
