Robert "Larry" Biggiam

Biggiam, Robert "Larry" Age 70 of Batavia, IL. passed away February 11, 2013 at home. He was born on July 22, 1942 in Columbus, Mississippi. He graduated from Galesburg High School in Galesburg, IL. He became a certified welder with an advanced degree. He worked at Fermi Lab in Batavia, IL. He also taught welding at Wanbansi College. He retired from the Pipefitters Union 597 in Chicago, IL. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Biggiam; his brother, Gary Biggiam; and his grandson, Tory-Justin "TJ" Racine. He is survived by his children, G. Christine Haptonstall-Biggiam of Galesburg, IL., Terry W. and Nancy Biggiam of Batavia, IL.; his three grandchildren, Casi Biggiam, Kyle Haptonstall, and Brianna Rhodes; a great- grandson as well as nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Larry's mother, Edna Norton of Galesburg, IL.; his brothers, Michael Biggiam of Tulsa, OK., Harold Biggiam of Galesburg, IL.; his sister, Linda Biggiam of Galesburg, IL.; and an ex-wife, Eva P. Bennett of Knoxville, IL. He was a member of the American Legion Post 749 and the VFW. Larry loved spending time with his family and friends and keeping the animals along the Fox River fat and happy. He was so many things, but mostly he was this families Hero. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the ICU at Loyola Hospital, Seasons Hospice of Batavia, IL., and everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Larry wished to be cremated.
