Matilda L. Metz

Metz, Matilda L. 91, of Aurora, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at her home. She was born September 2, 1922 in Greenwood, SD. Matilda was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and member of the Montgomery VFW Post 7452. She was a member of St. Mary Church. She loved the outdoors, especially camping. She was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include two sons, David E. (Liliana) Metz, Michael A. Metz; four grandchildren, Ronald Metz, Scott (Pattie) Coldwate, Melissa (Norman) Pirofalo, Eric (Jenny) Koppen; five great-grandchildren, Jesse Pirofalo, Dezirae Pirofalo, Brittany Coldwate, Allison Coldwate, Tilly Metz; a great-great-grandchild, Nevaeh Parker; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Metz, Jr.; her parents, Jesse and Viola (Lyman) Picotte, Sr.; a daughter, Mary Ann Proud; a grandson, Tim Metz; her sister, Charlotte LaPointe; three brothers, Noel Picotte, Leslie Picotte, Jesse G. Picotte. Matilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister; she will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Mary Church at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Timothy R. Piasecki will officiate with interment in River Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Liturgical Wake Service at 6:00 p.m. at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora. 630-631-5500.
