John C. Corcoran

Corcoran, John C. 79, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Presence Mercy Center in Aurora, IL. He was born June 22, 1933 in Aurora, Illinois. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and serving in the Signal Corps from 1953 thru 1955. John spent forty-five years dedicating himself to his career in ironwork and was a member of the Iron Workers Local #393. John had many hobbies and interests. He was an avid reader who loved camping and traveling. He and his wife, Beverly took many wonderful trips around the world. He never passed up an opportunity to float up and down the Fox River in both his kayak and canoe. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and attending all of his grandchildren's activities. He was deeply loved and will be truly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Corcoran (Fatheree); four children, John M. (Meg) Corcoran, Beth Ann (Brian) Gieseler, Sue Ann (Larry) Brandt, Timothy C. (Lois) Corcoran; nine grandchildren, Lauren Brandt, Alexsis Corcoran, Kelsey Brandt, Brianna Gieseler, Shelby Brandt, Casey Corcoran, Brittany Gieseler, Sarah (Chad) Burns, Rachael (Clayton) Peaslee; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Overton, Lilly Burns; a brother-in-law, Walter Schick; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Gladys (Clark) Corcoran; his sister, Mary Lou Schick. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, Fr./Deacon Tom Hawksworth will officiate. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora. 630-631-5500.
