Charles "Leo" Fields

Fields, Charles "Leo" 88, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born September 15, 1925 in Loogootee, IN to Charles Ernest and Mary Inez (Smith) Fields. Leo was a proud veteran of WWII in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He was a member of the Oswego American Legion and the Aurora Moose Lodge 400. He was a lifetime member of the Aurora Archery Club and won the 1961 Northeast League Championship as well as several second place medals over the years. In his life Leo was employed by D.R. Sperrys, Trio Brass, Ricks Auto and Lee Auto. Leo's survivors include his wife of 28 years, Mary (Falkos) Fields; three sisters, Sister Alithea Fields and, Sister Robertus Fields both of Montgomery, IL, Theresa J. Ryan of Waukesha, WI; a brother, Robert J. Fields of LaSalle, IL; his niece, Cindy (Ryan) Whitting; several great-nieces and nephews; a great-great-nephew, Bowie (Bang Bang); three brothers-in-law, Nick (Rita) Falkos of Aurora, IL, Jack (Jessica) Falkos of Mobile, AL, Denny Falkos of Aurora, IL; his beloved dog, "Buddy". Leo's family wishes to extend special thanks to the owners and staffs of both Nikarry's and Papa Bear restaurants. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Wilabel (Taylor) Fields; two sisters, Gertrude (late Thomas) Kopp, Sister Pauline Fields; a brother, James Francis Fields; a nephew, James (late Donna) Kopp. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 14, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY; interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.
