Carol Ray Counts

Counts, Carol Ray Age 73, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born in Dickenson County, Virginia, and resided in the Aurora, Illinois area until his return to McClure, Virginia in 1990. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Caterpillar Corporation after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prince and Avie Counts; his son, Gregory Counts; brothers, Roger Lee Counts, L.C., and a baby brother. Survivors include: wife, Barbara Counts of McClure, Virginia; daughters, Adrena Turner of Highpoint, North Carolina, Jennifer Eckles of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Haley Sacco of Aurora, Illinois; son, Clinton Counts of McClure, Virginia; stepson, Jim Ward of Aurora, Illinois; sister, Janice Powers of Ohio; brother, Larry Counts of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren, Ricky Nestor, Avie Michele Eckles, Jordan Counts, Steven Eckles, Jackson Tyner, Tyler Ward, Cameron Ward, and Brielle Sacco; special nephew, Brian Counts; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at McClure Pentecostal Church, McClure, Virginia with Gray Edwards officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Tom Culbertson, Jordan Milgrim, Chris McCowan, Jimmy Ward, and Brian Counts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the .
