Glenn, John M. 87, of Batavia, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. He was born March 18, 1926 in Aurora, the son of John and Eva (nee Mehren) Glenn. He was united in marriage to Eileen Schramer on October 14, 1950. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946. After his military service, John worked at the Batavia Post Office for 33 years. After retirement, he worked for Flinn Scientific for 25 years. He was a founding member of the Batavia Orchid Society. He was also a member of the Maple Park American Legion Post 312. He loved wood-working in his spare time. John was proud to have been selected to participate in Honor Flight Chicago's trip to Washington D.C. in July 2009. John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eileen Glenn, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, William (Marjorie) Glenn, and two sisters, Ruth (William) Flaherty and Lois (Gregory) Molitor. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave. in Batavia. Funeral services will start with prayers from the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 25, before processing to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 West Main Street, in Batavia to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. Kleckner, Shirley M. 88, of Aurora, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. She was born May 27, 1924 in Aurora, IL. Shirley was united in marriage to William C. Kleckner on August 13, 1949. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, where she supported and attended all of their activities. She always provided her family with kindness, compassion and unconditional love, and her family was always her first priority. She considered herself to be truly blessed and was proud of each and every one of them. Her home was a gathering place where all who entered were welcomed and made to feel like part of her family. She was loved so much by so many people. We who called her Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma know that we were the ones who were blessed to have her in our lives. You will be missed more than can be imagined, but we are so happy that you and Dad are together again, forever. She is survived by her children, Kathy Dietiker, Bill Kleckner, Jan (Don) Osmer, Jeff (Sherry) Kleckner, Lynn (Dave) Fichtel, Tom Kleckner, Mary (Mark) Adams, and Dave Kleckner; her grandchildren, Kristin and Katie Dietiker, Kyle (Adrienne) and Kelly Kleckner, Ryan and Matt Wagner, Brooke (Geoff) Tesmer, Andrew and Haley Kleckner, Jessica, Stacey, and Sean Fichtel, Annalyse (Sam), Mark, Michael, and Kendall Adams; her great grandchild, Kennedy Kleckner; her sister, Lorraine Garland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill in 1976. Together they shared more than 26 years of a loving marriage. She was also preceded in death by son-in-law, Dave "Linc" Dietiker; niece, Anne McElroy; parents, Katherine and George Adams; brothers, Elmer (Loretta) Adams, Bob (Rose) Adams, and Ray (Claire) Adams; sister, Eileen (Glenn) Johnson; brother-in-law, Joseph Garland; parents-in-law, Hillary and Hugh Kleckner; brother-in-law, Mal (Dorothy) Kleckner; and sister-in-law, Betty (Dick) McElroy. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY at 11:30 AM to St. Joseph Church at 12:00 PM. Fr. Jerome Leake will officiate with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Morgan, Wendell Harold 82, of Montgomery, was given into God's hands May 16, 2013 at Season's Hospice IPU. He was born July 11, 1930 in Waterman, Illinois to the late Emery LeRoy and Mabel (Herold) Morgan. He is survived by his loving wife, Verna (Manka) Morgan and married 64+ years. They have four daughters, Karen Virginia Backes, Aurora, Illinois, Denise Allie Pike, Houston, Texas, Debra Kay Lent, Montgomery, Illinois, Kimberly Ann Morgan, Whitesburg, Georgia; six grandchildren, Wendy Blaine, Amy Pike, Angela (Brad) Murphy, Bob Lent, Christine (David) Maldonado, Brian (Kathy) Lent, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother-in-law, David Michael; sisters-in-law, Sally (Morgan) Schmidt, Sharon (Don) Vogel and beloved nephews and nieces. Wendell started his career as a crater and worked his way to General Foreman over the chair line and sewing machine operators for All Steel Equipment. He also helped set up the factory in Jackson, Tennessee. He was with them for 43 years. His love of bowling at Idle Hour Lanes took him through the bowling circuit every year for 25 years. He devoted many of his retirement hours to Our Savior Lutheran Church as usher, deacon, and mission control. Married at a young age, they raised their daughters and survived every day by saying "I love you" before going to sleep each night. They taught them through their love and determination how to meet the challenges of life and pursue their dreams. Wendell was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Michael; two brothers, Donald and Richard Morgan and two sons-in-law, Dan Pike and Don Lent. A sincere thank you goes to Ricardo and family, plus their close friends and neighbors for all the help and support they received over the past years. Wendell and Verna's wishes were to donate their bodies to Anatomical Gift Association for medical research. A celebration of life will be held at 3 PM on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 420 W. Downer Place, Aurora. Illinois, with visitation from 2 PM until time of service. Slaughter-O'Brochta, Lois J. 81, of Montgomery passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Presence Mercy Center. She was born August 7, 1931 in Mendota, IL the daughter of the late George and Myrtle "May" (Sperrey) Duffey. Lois is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Jeanine Lehnert) Slaughter, Marilyn (Donald) Holmes, Rodney (Jacqueline) Slaughter and Steven Slaughter; ten grandchildren, Carolyn Slaughter, Sarah (Jason) Stauffenberg, Scott Slaughter, Andrea (Michael) Jarot, Tracy (Eric) Smith, Theo Calvert, Theron Greene, Johnathon Slaughter, Noah Slaughter and Marcus Slaughter. Survivors also include eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her two husbands, Theron "Pete" Slaughter and Frances "Frank" O'Brochta; two sisters, Beverly Contreras and Dorothy Johnson; as well as a brother, Howard Duffey. Funeral services will take place at 12 P.M. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr. Sugar Grove with Pastor Jeff Moore officiating.
